Tidbits from AR Conference 2006

goats_Peace_Abbey.jpgI'm finally getting around to reviewing the brief notes I took at the Animal Rights Conference in Washington DC this August. Here are some points I jotted down:

“If you don’t want to see it [images of animal cruelty], get out there and do something about it.” – Doll Stanley, In Defense of Animals

Every second 269 chickens are killed.

1 million animals are killed in the U.S. every hour.

“Eating meat is something you do to someone else’s body without their consent.” – Pattrice Jones, Eastern Shore Sanctuary

“Be discouraged for 10 minutes a day, the rest of the time, get busy.” – Barbara Stagno, In Defense of Animals
